Terms of use for NKS Talk – an independent client for Nextcloud Talk, currently in testing.
Briefly and without legalese: NKS Talk is an independent client for Nextcloud Talk that you connect to your own server. These terms cover the app itself only.
What the app is for
The app provides access to Nextcloud Talk on a server you choose. It provides no message storage or transport service of its own — that is your Nextcloud server's job.
Your server, your rules
Running the Nextcloud server, the availability of data and the rules of its use are down to its administrator. If you connect to somebody else's server, their terms apply, not these.
Testing phase
The app is at version 0.1.0 and runs in testing mode. That means bugs can happen, features can change, and data held in the app can be lost during an update. Do not use it as the only storage for anything important — the messages live on your server anyway.
Liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranty. We are not liable for damage arising from its use, for outages of your Nextcloud server, or for undelivered notifications — Google and Apple services sit on that path and we do not control them.
What we ask of you
That the app is not used to break the law, and that you do not try to circumvent the security of the servers you connect to. That is all.

How we handle data is described in the privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
The terms can change, mostly as the app grows out of its testing phase. The current wording is always here, with the date of the last update.
